Job Description
**Job Title:** Software Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines, architecture, and services to enable high‑volume, real‑time data analytics and operational applications. Collaborate closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and IT teams to translate business analytics requirements into scalable, production‑ready data solutions. **Expectations:** - Minimum 5 years of professional data engineering experience. - Proven track record with regulated healthcare data (HIPAA, FDA 21 CFR Part 11) and clinical data schemas (FHIR, HL7, OMOP). - Strong ability to work in a hybrid environment, integrate code continuously, and deliver cloud‑native solutions. - Ability to communicate complex analytical models to business partners and translate them into data structures and API contracts. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Provide technical guidance on data architecture, models, and metadata management to senior stakeholders. 2. Define, implement, and monitor data flows for digital products. 3. Conduct data modeling, testing, and validation against business requirements. 4. Extract, cleanse, and deliver data to support analytical problems and development needs. 5. Collaborate with database teams on data quality, integrity, and governance. 6. Track and report analytics impact on business metrics. 7. Monitor market trends and emerging data technologies. 8. Build automated pipelines (Hadoop, streaming hubs) and API delivery services for operational and analytical workloads. 9. Transform analytical models into scalable production‑ready solutions. 10. Continuously integrate and deploy code to on‑premise and cloud environments. 11. Develop end‑to‑end applications using modern stacks (Scala, Spark, Postgres, AngularJS, NoSQL). 12. Engage product managers and customers in agile delivery of data products. **Required Skills:** - ETL development: proficiency building robust pipelines (AWS Glue, Emr, Lambda, ECS). - Data Modeling: relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB); clinical schemas (FHIR, HL7, OMOP). - Cloud Platforms: experience with HIPAA‑compliant services on AWS or similar. - Programming: strong Python, SQL; experience with Spark or Scala preferred. - API Integration: RESTful, HL7/FHIR, EHR/device ingestion. - Stream Processing: familiarity with Flink, Kafka, or Spark Structured Streaming. - Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or equivalent. - Continuous Integration/Deployment: automated pipelines. - Agile development practices. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related field. - Certifications not mandatory but HIPAA or FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance knowledge is essential.
