Job title: Onsite Project Manager (Strategic Project Manager, Non‑IT Focus)
Role Summary:
Lead large, complex, politically sensitive government initiatives focused on business transformation, policy change, and service delivery improvements. Manage the full project lifecycle from proposal and charter development through execution, delivery, closeout, and lessons‑learned documentation, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Expactations:
- Deliver initiatives on time, within scope, and budget while meeting quality and performance standards.
- Act as the central point of coordination for cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Maintain rigorous oversight of risks, issues, dependencies, and change management activities.
- Facilitate transparent communication of status, scope alterations, and resource needs to steering committees and senior leadership.
- Champion continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and recommending best practices for future projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with program areas to prepare proposals, charters, and comprehensive planning documents.
- Define project organization structures, roles, and responsibilities.
- Manage scope, budget, schedule, quality, and performance metrics.
- Identify milestones, success factors, dependencies, and resource requirements.
- Contribute to deliverables such as research reports, survey designs, and policy impact assessments.
- Lead project and steering committee meetings, ensuring actionable outcomes.
- Document and communicate changes in scope, budget, or schedule proactively.
- Proactively manage risks, issues, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support change management, business analysis, and stakeholder communication initiatives.
- Complete handover of project outputs and documentation to the Project Management Office (PMO).
- Assess project outcomes, document lessons learned, and recommend improvements.
