**Job Title:** Software Engineer (Remote/Hybrid) **Role Summary:** Responsible for maintaining and enhancing a PHP 8 / Laravel 9 monolithic application, improving legacy codebases, and ensuring delivery of stable, high‑quality code. Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, mentor junior developers, and integrate DevOps tools to support continuous delivery and security compliance. **Expectations:** - Deliver clean, well‑reviewed code in a structured engineering environment. - Own projects and drive decision‑making for impact on product growth. - Mentor and guide less experienced team members. - Communicate blockers, estimates, and changes transparently. - Adhere to technical leadership and team priorities over personal agendas. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and maintain features in a PHP 8 / Laravel 9 codebase. - Incrementally refactor and improve legacy systems while minimizing risk. - Debug and stabilize production React components without full rebuilds. - Integrate and configure security & DevOps tools (Vapor, Snyk, Cloudflare). - Write and maintain CI/CD pipelines on AWS. - Provide estimate accuracy, block‑resolution communication, and status updates. - Mentor junior developers, enforcing coding standards and best practices. - Foster a team‑first culture and collaborative problem‑solving. **Required Skills:** - 5+ years of professional PHP/Laravel production experience. - Deep knowledge of Laravel conventions and ecosystem. - Experience working within and refactoring legacy codebases. - Working knowledge of React (debugging, stabilizing). - Basic DevOps proficiency: AWS, CI/CD, shell scripting. - Strong attention to detail and meticulous problem‑solving mindset. - Proven mentoring ability and promotion of clean coding practices. - Excellent communication, teamwork, and relationship‑building skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred). - No mandatory certifications required; experience and technical competence are primary criteria.
