Job title: Category Manager – IT Platform Engineering & End User
Role Summary: Lead global procurement strategy for Platform Engineering & End User categories, driving commercial value, risk reduction, and supplier performance. Own the 6–12 month category plan, execute complex sourcing and renewals in Ariba, and ensure data quality and governance across the sourcing lifecycle.
Expectations: Build a dynamic pipeline of sourcing events and renewals aligned with stakeholder roadmaps. Deliver measurable cost savings, payment term improvements, and supplier consolidation. Maintain 100 % data integrity in Ariba, provide accurate MI, and close all material supplier risk assessments. Act as a trusted advisor to engineering, finance, HR, and programme teams across multiple geographies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update the category strategy, sizing the opportunity, defining value levers, setting KPIs, and maintaining a prioritized pipeline.
- Lead end‑to‑end sourcing projects and contract renewals (RFI/RFP, evaluation, BAFO, award) in Ariba; negotiate commercial terms with stakeholders, legal, and risk teams; ensure contract compliance and record‑keeping.
- Champion Ariba data stewardship: taxonomy alignment, metadata completeness, timely uploads, and accurate savings capture.
- Produce category metrics and dashboards (SpendViz, Ariba reports) to inform decision‑making.
- Initiate and coordinate Supplier Risk Management assessments (InfoSec, Privacy, BCM) and maintain risk status in Riskonnect/Ariba.
- Manage a small team (1–2 members) and collaborate with cross‑regional colleagues (UK, US, France, Mumbai).
- Embed ESG and diversity considerations into category processes and maintain alignment with the organization’s operating model.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in IT procurement/category management with a proven record of multi‑stage sourcing and complex negotiations.
- Strong people‑management and stakeholder‑management abilities across global time zones.
- Proficiency in Ariba Sourcing & Contracts (or equivalent S2P) and a data‑driven mindset focused on metadata and reporting.
- In‑depth understanding of supplier risk workflows and partnership with Legal, InfoSec, Privacy, and BCM functions.
- Strategic, analytical thinker able to translate insights into commercial actions; excellent written and verbal communication.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT, or related field.
- CIPS or equivalent procurement certification highly desirable (not mandatory).
