**Job Title:** Data Product Owner
**Role Summary:**
Lead the product strategy and delivery for enterprise data governance, translating business needs into a clear vision, roadmap, and governance framework that ensures data accuracy, compliance, and strategic value across the organization. Act as the liaison between business, IT, risk, and compliance to embed data stewardship and ownership.
**Expectations:**

• Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog while prioritising data quality, metadata, lineage, and master data initiatives.
• Deliver measurable outcomes through KPIs on data quality, compliance, and governance adoption.
• Influence cross‑functional stakeholders and secure alignment across business units, risk, and compliance teams.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Define and communicate the product vision for data governance aligned with business and data strategy.
2. Prioritise and manage the product backlog, driving iterative delivery of data quality, lineage, metadata, and master data initiatives.
3. Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with data stewards, analysts, and IT delivery teams.
4. Define, monitor, and report on KPIs related to data quality, compliance, and governance adoption.
5. Facilitate stakeholder alignment and communicate complex governance concepts to non‑technical audiences.
6. Champion cultural change to promote data ownership and accountability throughout the enterprise.
7. Contribute to the selection, implementation, and continuous improvement of data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica) and frameworks (e.g., DAMA‑DMBOK).
8. Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, BCBS 239, NIS2, ESG reporting, and DORA.
**Required Skills:**
- Product ownership or business analysis experience in complex or regulated environments (≥5 years).
- Deep knowledge of data quality, metadata management, lineage, master data, and data ownership principles.
- Proficiency with Agile/Scrum methodologies, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and iterative delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to simplify technical concepts for business audiences.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (GDPR, ESG, BCBS, DORA, etc.).
- Technical fluency in data modelling (BPMN, UML), SQL, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with data governance platforms (Collibra, Informatica) is an asset.
- Fluency in English and Dutch; French is a plus.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- Product owner or business analyst certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, PMI‑ACP, or equivalent) preferred but not mandatory.
