**Job Title**
Engineering Manager
**Role Summary**
Lead and grow a cross‑functional engineering squad, ensuring delivery of high‑quality products from design to production. Act as a technical contributor, coach, and facilitator, aligning squad outputs with product vision while maintaining operational excellence.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 4 years of backend development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or coaching role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams, set high expectations, drive end‑to‑end projects, and communicate effectively with non‑technical stakeholders.
- Fluent in English.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Team Management**: oversee squad members’ career planning, performance, skill development, and recruitment. Facilitate coaching, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- **Technical Ownership**: actively develop using Ruby, Go, React, Kafka, gRPC, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, AWS, Helm, Docker, Terraform; identify and resolve production incidents; improve processes, tooling, and standards.
- **Delivery Leadership**: delegate tasks, orchestrate technical design meetings, coordinate cross‑team collaboration, track action items, and ensure timely delivery aligned with product roadmap.
- **Strategic Involvement**: collaborate with Product Manager to shape squad vision, determine technical feasibility, and make decisive calls on direction and process improvements.
**Required Skills**
- Proficient in Ruby, Go, React/Next.js, TypeScript; experience with micro‑service and monolith architectures.
- Deep knowledge of Kafka, gRPC, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, and AWS infrastructure.
- Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD (GitHub, CircleCI, Jenkins).
- Strong coaching, leadership, and communication abilities; adept at stakeholder engagement and cross‑functional alignment.
- Commitment to clean code, testing, peer programming, and code‑review culture.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Optional certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, or relevant technology stacks are advantageous.
