Between us, we represent more than 60 brand and employ over 150,000 people in our European operations. The Alliance provides the first collective and exclusive voice for retail clothing brands in Europe. Job Description
**Job Title:** Policy Officer – Sustainability **Role Summary:** Advise and represent a European trade association on EU and member‑state sustainability legislation. Translate legislative developments into strategic actions, draft position papers, coordinate member input, and build policy networks to safeguard the industry’s interests. **Expactations:** - Deliver timely policy analysis and briefings to senior management. - Maintain clear, accurate documentation and presentations. - Build and sustain relationships with EU institutions, regulators, and industry stakeholders. - Demonstrate professionalism under tight deadlines and travelling as required. **Key Responsibilities:** - Monitor and analyse EU/member‑state legislation impacting sustainability and trade. - Produce position papers, briefing notes, and presentation materials. - Coordinate working groups, gather and consolidate member views, draft official positions. - Advocate on behalf of the association in Brussels and in broader stakeholder forums. - Support external events and visibility initiatives in collaboration with senior leadership. **Required Skills:** - Strong written and verbal communication; advanced reporting and presentation abilities. - Deep understanding of EU policy and decision‑making processes; familiarity with EU sustainability regulations. - Facilitation and negotiation skills; ability to manage diverse member perspectives. - Networking and relationship‑building with government, regulators, trade bodies, and industry peers. - Excellent organisation, time‑management, and attention to detail. - Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate integrity. **Required Education & Certifications:** - University degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, or a related field. - Minimum 3 years of Brussels/EU policy experience in a trade‑association or regulatory environment. - Professional proficiency in English; knowledge of French, Spanish, or German is an asset.
