Job Description
Job title: Policy Officer Role Summary: Provide analytical, drafting, and coordination support to the ChargeUp Europe policy team, ensuring the organisation’s positions on EU policy, technology standards, and market development are clearly articulated and effectively advocated across stakeholders and the broader membership. Expactations: - Deliver actionable policy outputs that advance ChargeUp Europe’s strategic priorities. - Act as a responsive liaison for members’ policy inquiries. - Lead the creation of concise advocacy and communication materials for internal and external use. Key Responsibilities: • Analyse EU policy documents, consultations, and regulatory proposals; synthesize key points, impact, and data for concise stakeholder communication. • Draft responses to public consultations, position papers, and briefing materials for committees and task forces. • Monitor EU policy developments and produce regular intelligence reports. • Coordinate internal meeting logistics, agendas, and follow‑up. • Build and maintain a network of partner organisations and stakeholders within the EU. • Produce advocacy materials, including short social media statements and presentation content. • Support communications activities, including drafting policy briefs and coordinating advocacy opportunities. • Liaise with other industry associations and Brussels stakeholders to strengthen collaborative advocacy efforts. Required Skills: - Strong analytical, summarising, and written communication skills (policy and technical). - Proven ability to produce concise advocacy and briefing materials. - Experience coordinating coalitions, networks, or stakeholder groups. - Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Fluency in written and spoken English. - Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently. Required Education & Certifications: - Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., public policy, energy, transport, digital, or economics). - Minimum 2–5 years experience in a technical, policy, or regulatory role within a relevant industry (transport, digital, energy) or a trade association. - Knowledge of EU policymaking processes and legislative instruments.
