**Job Title** Java Developer **Role Summary** 5‑plus month contract, full‑stack Java developer (6‑9 years experience) to design, build, deploy and support Java‑based microservices and RESTful APIs. Focus on Kubernetes/AWS environments, CI/CD pipelines, and on‑call troubleshooting. **Expectations** - Deliver production‑ready code on schedule. - Participate in on‑call support and production issue resolution. - Maintain code quality through automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD best practices. - Continuously learn and apply emerging Java, cloud, and DevOps technologies. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Architect and implement Java microservices using modern frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot). 2. Design, build, and expose RESTful APIs with proper documentation. 3. Deploy, monitor, and scale services on Kubernetes or AWS (EKS, ECS). 4. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) with Docker image management. 5. Write unit, integration, and performance tests; enforce test coverage thresholds. 6. Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and uphold security best practices. 7. Gather functional and non‑functional requirements; translate them into technical specifications. 8. Troubleshoot production incidents, participate in root‑cause analysis, and apply corrective actions. 9. Create technical documentation for architecture, configuration, and deployment procedures. **Required Skills** - Advanced proficiency in Java (8/11/17) and Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud). - Experience building stateless microservices and RESTful APIs. - Strong knowledge of Kubernetes (kubectl, Helm) or AWS services (EKS, ECS, CloudFormation). - Docker, container registries, and orchestration fundamentals. - CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or equivalent. - Git, branching strategies, and merge/pull‑request workflows. - Automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers). - Performance tuning, logging (SLF4J, Logback), and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana). - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices. - Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). - Oracle Certified Professional – Java SE (preferred). - AWS Certified Developer – Associate or Kubernetes Certified Application Developer (preferred).
