Job Description
**Job Title:** Finance Consultant **Role Summary** The Finance Consultant works across client engagements in finance and accounting, providing support in accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, cost accounting, treasury, tax, and financial control. Junior consultants focus on day‑to‑day accounting tasks, while senior consultants drive broader financial strategy, reporting, compliance, and process improvement. **Expectations** - Deliver accurate and compliant financial statements and VAT filings. - Optimize clients’ financial health through analytical insights and process recommendations. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and maintain strong client relationships. - Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements. **Key Responsibilities** - Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing. - Manage general ledger maintenance and periodic close. - Perform cost and financial analysis, including variance analysis. - Support treasury functions such as cash forecasting and liquidity management. - Prepare and review VAT returns and other statutory filings. - Compile annual financial statements in conformity with applicable standards. - Lead or support control and compliance audits. - Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance financial reporting and controls. - Provide constructive feedback and coaching to clients on financial matters. **Required Skills** - Fluent in Dutch and English; French knowledge is an advantage. - Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities. - Excellent problem‑solving skills with attention to detail. - Client‑focused attitude and effective communication. - Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel. - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. - Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) are a plus.
