Job Title: Senior Linux Platform Engineer (Research Team)
Role Summary: Lead design, deployment, and optimization of high‑performance Linux infrastructure for research and trading workloads. Drive system engineering across operating systems, networking, storage, and container orchestration to achieve low‑latency, high‑throughput performance.
Expectations: Deliver end‑to‑end platform solutions, mentor junior engineers, and maintain operational excellence. Own troubleshooting, performance tuning, and continuous improvement initiatives for mission‑critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement workload scheduling and system architecture for large‑scale Linux environments.
- Optimize Linux kernel, CPU, memory, network, and storage subsystems for latency and throughput.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, Jenkins, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop telemetry, metrics, and dashboards with Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Analyse and resolve complex performance issues, conducting root‑cause analysis and performance profiling.
- Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies, preparing architectural POCs and recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with research, trading, and infrastructure teams to align platform capabilities with business needs.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of Linux systems administration and platform engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in Linux kernel tuning, hardware optimisation, network performance, and storage I/O.
- Proficiency with DevOps tools: Terraform, Ansible, GitLab CI, Jenkins.
- Strong scripting/Programming: Python, Go, or equivalent.
- Container and orchestration knowledge: Docker, Kubernetes.
- Experience with performance monitoring: Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and technical leadership abilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- No mandatory certifications, but relevant credentials (e.g., RHCE, CKA) are a plus.
