**Job title**
Supervisor – Retail Coffee Shop
**Role Summary**
Lead the flagship retail coffee shop, managing daily operations, ensuring consistent coffee quality, and fostering a high‑engagement, customer‑focused team. The role blends people‑management, operational excellence, and brand‑representation to sustain a premium coffee experience.
**Expectations**
- Inspire and develop a motivated staff that delivers excellent customer service.
- Maintain impeccable product and operational standards in line with brand values.

- Manage staffing, schedules, cash handling and inventory to meet business targets.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee all front‑of‑house operations, including opening/closing shifts and cash reconciliation.
- Coach and train staff on coffee preparation, brewing techniques, recipe development, and customer interaction.
- Ensure consistent quality control of coffee, beverages, and food items.
- Create and update recipes, brew methods, and product knowledge for new coffees.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock rotation to minimise waste and optimise supply.
- Monitor and implement health & safety, hygiene, and food‑service regulations.
- Handle customer feedback, resolve issues, and champion brand experience.
- Conduct regular staff reviews, performance appraisals, and succession planning.
- Collaborate with the general manager on strategic initiatives, marketing, and new product launches.
**Required Skills**
- Proven people‑management and staff‑development experience in hospitality or retail.
- Strong knowledge of coffee brewing equipment, recipe formulation, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Analytical mindset for inventory control, cost management, and performance metrics.
- Empathy, inclusiveness, and commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Minimum secondary education; higher education or vocational qualification in hospitality, business or food‑service preferred.
- Food safety and hygiene certification (e.g., Level 3 Food Safety or equivalent) is desirable.
- Training in coffee specialty (e.g., barista certification) is an advantage.
