Job Description
Job Title: Internal Medicine Resident Role Summary: Graduate veterinarian dedicated to internal medicine, joining a multidisciplinary referral team and rotating through specialty disciplines while performing clinical duties, out‑of‑hours shifts, and ongoing educational activities. Expectations: Deliver high‑quality diagnostic and therapeutic care, collaborate with a team of specialists, commit to professional development, and actively engage in rotation schedules and specialty-focused responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct patient diagnostics and manage internal medicine cases. • Participate in rotations across oncology, surgery, cardiology, neurology, diagnostics, dentistry, physiotherapy, and anaesthesia. • Perform out‑of‑hours duties on a shared rota with residents and diplomate staff. • Attend case discussions, ward rounds, and team meetings. • Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to clinical audits. • Complete mandatory training, continuing professional development, and CPD activities. Required Skills: • Strong teamwork and communication abilities in a multi‑disciplinary environment. • Excellent English language proficiency. • Ability to prioritize patient care and manage shifting responsibilities. • Knowledge of veterinary internal medicine fundamentals and familiarity with diagnostic techniques. Required Education & Certifications: • Veterinary degree (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine). • Registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) or eligibility to register. • Minimum two years of clinical experience post‑graduation, preferably including a rotating internship at a multidisciplinary referral centre. • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
