Job Description
**Job Title:** Equipment Electrical Design Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and test low‑voltage switchgear and control panel systems, producing detailed CAD/ePLAN schematics and collaborating with project teams to deliver client‑specific solutions. **Expectations:** - Deliver accurate, standards‑compliant electrical designs for switchgear, motor control centers, and power distribution. - Manage multiple design projects independently, meeting scheduled deadlines. - Maintain clear communication with clients and cross‑functional teams to confirm requirements and progress. **Key Responsibilities:** - Create and review detailed electrical schematics and drawings using CAD/ePLAN. - Analyze project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations to inform design decisions. - Troubleshoot and optimise electrical system designs for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. - Coordinate with manufacturing and installation teams to ensure successful design implementation. - Provide technical support and documentation during production and field testing phases. - Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and inter‑departmental collaboration to address technical issues and project scope. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in electrical design with CAD and ePLAN software. - In‑depth knowledge of low‑voltage switchgear, motor control centers, and power distribution systems. - Strong grasp of electrical engineering principles, regulations, and safety standards. - Problem‑solving abilities, troubleshooting, and optimisation of electrical systems. - Excellent written and verbal communication, client liaison, and teamwork skills. - Self‑direction and effective multi‑project management with adherence to timelines. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. - Industry certifications (e.g., IEC, IEEE, or similar) and/or prior experience in switchgear design are advantageous.
