About the Company

Parkstone Yacht Club was established in 1895 and is situated on the North shore of the second largest natural harbour in the world. Poole harbour boasts panoramic views, sandy beaches and clean waters. The Club has an active membership of 2800 members, comprising equal numbers of dinghy and cruiser owners. Both sailing and racing are actively encouraged for the amateur sailor young and old alike. Parkstone Yacht Club regularly hosts World, National Championships and Open meetings for a variety of classes and is renowned for Poole Week which is held each year in August, offering Open Regatta racing for classes of Dinghy, and Parkstone Regatta for Cruisers. There is also the Youth section offering training, racing and including Youth Week, very active fun days out on the water.

Job Description
Job Title: Business Analyst – Re‑Platforming Project (30‑Day Contract) Role Summary: Provide evidence‑based analysis and structured documentation to support the Steering Group's decisions in a 30‑day re‑platforming initiative. Deliver process maps, business requirements, RFPs, vendor evaluations, and a comprehensive project plan, ensuring alignment with the strategic goal of replacing legacy systems with a unified digital platform. Expectations: Complete all deliverables within the 30‑day contract, maintain clear communication with stakeholders, and demonstrate ability to influence vendor selection and project planning. Successful performance may lead to additional post‑implementation work. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct detailed “As‑Is” process mapping across membership, hospitality, marina, racing, yard operations, finance, facilities, and marketing functions. - Facilitate workshops and interviews with staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to elicit requirements. - Produce prioritized, structured business requirements documents. - Draft and issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to potential platform vendors. - Evaluate vendor proposals, prepare comparison summaries, and support selection. - Develop, maintain, and update the project plan and timeline. - Identify and document risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities. - Compile and present periodic status reports to the Steering Group. Required Skills: - Proven Business Analyst experience, preferably in IT platform replacement or digital transformation. - Strong process mapping and requirement gathering capability. - Demonstrated experience writing RFPs and evaluating vendor responses. - Excellent communication and stakeholder facilitation skills. - Solid organizational and project‑planning abilities. - Knowledge of membership, hospitality, marina, or finance domains is desirable. - Experience in project‐based roles, particularly system re‑platforming or implementation. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. - Professional Business Analysis certification (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) preferred.
