Job Description
Job Title: Security Manager Role Summary: Lead and manage all security operations for a senior living community, ensuring resident, guest, and staff safety through proactive risk mitigation, incident command, and coordination with external responders. Expectations: Demonstrate proven leadership in public safety, maintain high security standards, meet compliance requirements, and cultivate a collaborative team culture. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee overall safety, security, and well‑being of the community. - Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and compliance audits (Life Safety, OSHA). - Mentor, train, and lead security staff; develop shift rosters and incident response protocols. - Investigate incidents, document findings, and preserve evidence. - Operate company vehicles safely and per policy. - Serve as incident commander for significant emergencies until relieved by higher authority. - Liaise with external first responders and emergency services. Required Skills: - Strong leadership and team‑building abilities. - Crisis management and emergency response competence. - Excellent communication and written reporting skills. - Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, state fire/EMS law). - Ability to conduct investigations and maintain evidence integrity. - Driver’s license and safe driving practices. Required Education & Certifications: - Minimum of 3 years public safety leadership (fire, EMS, law enforcement) or equivalent. - Current, valid driver’s license. - 1+ year emergency responder experience. - Emergency Medical Responder certification (within 6 months of hire). - Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification. - OSHA 10‑Hour certification (within 6 months of hire). - Professional security certification (CPP, PSP, CHPA) preferred. ---
