Mathspace is on a mission to personalize mathematics instruction, learning and assessment. Our adaptive algorithm tailors mathematics learning pathways in real-time based on a student’s strengths and knowledge gaps. As a student develops mathematics skills on Mathspace, individual questions and topics adjust to the appropriate rigour. For students, Mathspace feels much like a personal tutor. Students get instructional support at each step of problem solving. Hints and video lessons are mapped to each independent practice question. Teachers can promote self-directed learning, or assign custom practice for their students. With national curricula from a number countries, teachers have access to up-to-date digital materials that adapt to each student’s unique needs.

Job Description

Job title: Product Designer (Creative) Role Summary: Design and iterate polished digital interfaces and engaging storytelling experiences for a global math education platform, blending aesthetic craft with user-centered design and gamified learning flows. Expectations: - Work independently on defined tasks while collaborating with design, product, and engineering teams. - Apply AI tools to ideation, prototyping, and asset creation. - Deliver production‑ready assets that meet a strict pixel‑perfect standard. - Be proactive, curious, and willing to experiment with new creative techniques. Key Responsibilities: - Create responsive UI screens and components in Figma, aligned with the shared design system. - Expand the design system with new patterns, interactions, and documentation. - Prototype and test learning flows, gamified elements (shop, rewards, quests), and teacher reports with users. - Produce visual assets—including icons, illustrations, and concept art—using Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent when Figma is insufficient. - Support storytelling moments that motivate students and delight teachers. - Explore AI‑driven creative possibilities and propose future‑focused product enhancements. Required Skills: - Strong visual and UI design proficiency, particularly in Figma. - Detail‑oriented, modern aesthetic sense, and awareness of current design trends. - Ability to translate creative concepts into polished, pixel‑perfect assets. - Comfortable using AI tools for ideation, image generation, copy exploration, and rapid prototyping. - Portfolio evidence of visual craftsmanship, UI work, and storytelling concepts. - Excellent communication and collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Required Education & Certifications: - Higher Education Certificate in Design (UI, Graphic, Multimedia or related field).
