Job Description
Job title: Senior Manager, Sales UK & Ireland Role Summary: Lead and develop the UK & Ireland sales function for the FOTE ophthalmology portfolio, driving commercial performance, managing key accounts, and executing strategic growth plans across a high‑performance team. Expactations: Deliver national sales, market‑share and profitability targets; build and mentor a top‑tier sales force; maintain compliance with ABPI Code of Practice; manage budgeting and CRM analytics to optimise results; foster collaboration across marketing, medical affairs, finance and national leadership. Key Responsibilities: - Lead, recruit, onboard and coach the Ophthalmology Key Account Management team. - Set and monitor sales goals, conduct performance reviews and provide actionable feedback. - Develop and execute high‑performance sales processes and account strategies. - Champion the Santen Selling Model (ENGAGE) across all customer interactions. - Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders (Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Finance, National Sales Manager) to align strategy. - Ensure full ABPI compliance and adherence to internal policies. - Manage budgets, track expenses, and leverage CRM data for continuous improvement. - Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership. Required Skills: - Proven experience in senior sales leadership within healthcare/pharma, ideally ophthalmology. - Deep understanding of UK/Ireland healthcare systems, prescribing and reimbursement. - Strong line‑management, coaching and team‑development abilities. - Demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding commercial targets. - Excellent negotiation, analytical and business‑acumen skills. - Effective stakeholder management in a matrix organisation. - Advanced interpersonal and emotional intelligence. - Proficient in CRM systems, Excel and presentation tools. - Strong organisational, resilience and proactive mindset. Required Education & Certifications: - Degree‑level education (or equivalent experience); additional qualifications in business, marketing or management preferred. - Familiarity with ABPI Code of Practice and relevant regulatory frameworks.
