Job title: Web Developer
Role summary: Design, develop, and maintain secure, accessible web experiences for a national credit union, improving usability, performance, and search visibility.
Expectations: Deliver user‑centric, compliant websites with high uptime; collaborate cross‑functionally; stay current with industry trends; adhere to ADA, WCAG, PCI, and NCUA standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Update and manage website content accurately and consistently.
- Build responsive layouts in React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML, CSS/Tailwind, and integrate with a headless CMS.
- Implement accessibility (WCAG), security (PCI), and regulatory compliance (ADA, NCUA) measures; conduct code reviews and apply patches.
- Monitor performance, conduct load & SEO optimizations, and analyze conversion metrics with marketing teams.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions, producing clear documentation and specifications.
- Champion innovation and best practices in front‑end development, including progressive web app features and performance budgeting.
Required skills:
- Proficient in React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML, CSS/Tailwind, and headless CMS workflows.
- Strong knowledge of web accessibility (WCAG), ADA compliance, PCI security standards, and financial institution regulations (NCUA).
- Experience optimizing performance, SEO, and conversion rates.
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, translating business needs into functional design.
- Analytical, creative problem‑solving with a focus on usability and scalability.
Required education & certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Accessibility Professional, AWS Certified Developer, Secure Coding Certifications) are a plus.
