Job Description
Job Title: T‑Level Student Placement – Civil Engineering Role Summary Foster learning and contribute to civil engineering projects by supporting design, measurement, quality control, and documentation tasks on active construction sites. Develop practical skills aligned with T‑Level standards while gaining exposure to industry practices, teamwork, and client interactions. Expectations * Complete the T‑Level Diploma in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) including assessment tasks. * Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work safely in a multidisciplinary team. * Engage with training, mentorship, and on‑site briefings to continuously improve technical and soft‑skill competencies. * Adhere to company safety policies, quality standards and environmental guidelines. Key Responsibilities 1. Assist with survey data collection and interpretation for site planning and design. 2. Support drafting of preliminary engineering drawings and documentation using CAD or similar tools. 3. Participate in construction site visits, noting progress, variations and potential issues. 4. Contribute to quality assurance activities: material checks, test reports, and snag lists. 5. Maintain accurate project records, logs and safety incident reports. 6. Collaborate with designers, contractors and clients to resolve queries and coordinate project tasks. 7. Attend training sessions, safety briefings and progress meetings. Required Skills * Strong mathematical aptitude and basic engineering principles. * Proficiency in standard office software (MS Office) and familiarity with CAD or civil engineering software. * Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for team collaboration and reporting. * Ability to follow instructions, work independently and resolve problems efficiently. * Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities. Required Education & Certifications * Successful completion of a T‑Level Diploma in Civil Engineering (or an equivalent recognized qualification). * Basic health and safety training (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent).
