Job Description
**Job title**: Bookkeeper **Role Summary** Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing payroll, tax returns, and financial statements in a physical office environment. Utilizes manual and computerized systems to manage ledgers, fixed assets, depreciation, and reconciliations. **Expectations** - Minimum 2‑3 years of bookkeeping experience. - Must work onsite; remote work not allowed. - Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. **Key Responsibilities** - Calculate and issue payroll checks. - Compute fixed‑asset depreciation and prepare related entries. - Record, classify, and maintain all financial transactions in general ledgers and accounting systems. - Post journal entries and prepare trial balances. - Reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. - Produce statistical, financial, and accounting reports. - Prepare and file tax returns. **Required Skills** - Proficiency with bookkeeping software and MS Office, especially Excel. - Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. - Strong analytical and record‑keeping skills. - Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. - Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities. **Required Education & Certifications** - Post‑secondary diploma or certificate in accounting, finance, or related field (1–2 years of study). - Certified bookkeeper or equivalent accounting credential preferred.
