Job Title: Junior Systems Administrator
Role Summary:
Entry‑level systems administrator responsible for maintaining day‑to‑day IT operations, providing first‑line support, assisting with device provisioning, account management, and basic network tasks. Works within a technology team to support colleagues and contribute to infrastructure projects.
Expectations:
- Deliver reliable, timely support to end‑users.
- Proactively manage device compliance and security.
- Communicate clearly with users and teammates.
- Continuously learn and apply new IT and cloud technologies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and knowledge base content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first‑line and basic second‑line technical support for Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.
- Set up laptops, monitors, mobile phones, printers, and video‑conferencing equipment.
- Manage user accounts, password resets, and permissions in Microsoft 365 and Azure AD.
- Monitor alerts, enforce device compliance (Intune, BitLocker), and manage policy roll‑outs.
- Perform basic network configuration: IP addressing, DNS, Wi‑Fi setup, and cable patching.
- Support infrastructure change requests and small projects.
- Document incidents, solutions, and contribute to self‑service resources.
Required Skills:
- Practical experience in IT support (internship, entry‑level role, or certification).
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Windows 10/11 environments.
- Basic networking knowledge (IP, DNS, Wi‑Fi).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented, reliable, and service‑mindful attitude.
- Willingness to troubleshoot, learn, and request escalation when needed.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Intune, BitLocker, or other device‑management tools.
- Exposure to Azure Virtual Machines, AWS basics, or monitoring platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile documentation practices.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Completed an IT qualification (e.g., A‑Level/AS‑Level in IT, CompTIA IT Fundamentals, Microsoft Technology Associate, or equivalent).
- Certification (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) is a plus.
