Job Description
**Job Title**: Caseworker – Grants, Loans & Mortgage Programs (Housing) **Role Summary** Responsible for administering grants, loans, and mortgage assistance programs that support lower‑income households in acquiring, repairing, or renting safe, affordable housing. Duties include financial analysis of applicants and social housing projects, drafting reports, and consulting with stakeholders to ensure program viability. **Expectations** - Manage a caseload efficiently to determine eligibility and deliver timely decision‑making. - Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating within a team environment. - Maintain high standards of compliance, confidentiality, and professional communication with diverse clients and stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Review and assess applicant financial statements for grants and loans. 2. Perform budgeting, cost analysis, and calculation of subsidies for housing co‑ops and social housing projects. 3. Administer operating agreements for social and non‑profit housing developments. 4. Prepare detailed financial reports, audit summaries, and intervention strategy documents. 5. Maintain accurate records in databases and produce required documentation. 6. Consult with project managers, housing boards, and community partners to address concerns and support program objectives. 7. Conduct interviews and in‑person client assessments, ensuring respectful and confidential interactions. 8. Apply IFRS principles, accounting ratios, and internal controls to all financial reviews. 9. Assist in program monitoring and reporting requirements to senior management. **Required Skills** - Financial analysis & budgeting - Property management & mortgage/loan administration - Knowledge of IFRS and basic accounting principles - Strong written and verbal communication, including report writing - Interviewing, client relations, and conflict resolution - Project management and organizational skills - Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, database software - Ability to work under pressure with diverse socioeconomic clients **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or equivalent (or * or a two‑year diploma plus 2 years of related experience, or * four years of related experience). - No mandatory certifications; awareness of co‑operative housing and provincial home repair programs is an asset.
