Information Technology Director of Project Management
Role Summary
Lead and manage the organization’s IT project portfolio, ensuring delivery of infrastructure, Dynamics 365, data warehouse, and business‑intelligence initiatives. Oversee a small team of project managers, drive project governance, and align technology projects with business objectives in a retail/eCommerce environment.
Expectations
- Deliver multiple large‑scale initiatives on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
- Provide strategic direction while remaining hands‑on in execution.
- Foster collaboration across IT, business units, and vendors.
- Maintain transparent reporting and escalation for project risks and status.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan, execute, and close company‑wide technology projects.
2. Prioritize project portfolio in partnership with executive leadership.
3. Establish and enforce project governance, tools, and best practices.
4. Lead, coach, and evaluate a team of project managers.
5. Manage scope, schedule, cost, and quality for all deliverables.
6. Produce weekly progress reports and escalations.
7. Champion Agile and hybrid SDLC processes, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
8. Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and maintain project integrity.
9. Partner with IT PMO to improve project intake and prioritization.
10. Present project updates to stakeholders as needed.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of progressive project/program management experience, 3+ years in leadership.
- Proven delivery of enterprise initiatives in retail, eCommerce, or consumer goods.
- Deep knowledge of eCommerce platforms, ERP (preferably Dynamics 365), BI, and data warehousing.
- Expertise in Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, and project tools (Monday.com, Jira, MS Project).
- Strong business process analysis and data flow understanding.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Fluency in English.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field.
- Project Management certification(s) (Scrum, PMP, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred.
