Job Description
**Job title** Calibration Engineer **Role Summary** Develop, test, and optimise powertrain calibration for future mobility platforms, including hybrid ICEs, fuel cells, and electrified vehicles. Work closely with customers and internal teams to define requirements, model systems, plan and execute test activities, and deliver data‑driven recommendations. **Expectations** - Deliver accurate calibration solutions that meet safety and performance requirements. - Own projects from requirement definition through to test completion and reporting. - Adapt quickly to new electrification and virtualisation opportunities. - Communicate technical findings clearly to multidisciplinary stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Support internal and customer powertrain development projects across various concepts. 2. Independently process and analyze data, producing concise reports for customers and management. 3. Design and manage new calibration processes using AVR and customer‑specific tools. 4. Plan, schedule, and conduct tests on engine/ powertrain testbeds and in‑vehicle systems. 5. Monitor project progress, provide status updates, and maintain documentation. 6. Contribute to internal presentations, training sessions, and knowledge sharing initiatives. **Required Skills** - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with data‑driven decision making. - Proficient in engine calibration and software development processes. - Working knowledge of calibration tools: ETAS Inca, ATI Vision, AVL Concerto, CANape, AVL CAMEO, DIAdem. - Excellent written and verbal communication across engineering, customer, and supplier teams. - Self‑motivated, capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision. - Flexible to travel between projects and sites. - Valid UK driving licence (or equivalent). **Required Education & Certifications** - 2:1 honours degree or Master’s in Mechanical, Automotive, or related engineering discipline. - No mandatory certifications, though professional membership and continuous learning are advantageous. ---
