**Job title:** DevOps Engineer (Contract)
**Role Summary:**
Senior contract DevOps Engineer responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing a multi‑cloud infrastructure strategy that spans AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle Cloud, and DigitalOcean. Leads production‑grade Kubernetes cluster management, advanced CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, unified observability, and zero‑trust security across the enterprise stack while mentoring junior engineers and driving cloud‑native best practices.
**Expactations:**
- 8+ years in DevOps / Site Reliability / Platform Engineering
- 6+ years hands‑on across multiple cloud providers
- 5+ years leading production Kubernetes deployments
- 4+ years managing technical projects and mentoring teams
- 3+ years designing and implementing multi‑cloud architectures
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design scalable, highly available infrastructure across AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, and DigitalOcean, ensuring cloud‑agnostic portability.
- Implement IaC with Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, and native tooling; automate provisioning, updates, and cost optimization.
- Build and maintain multi‑cluster Kubernetes environments (EKS, AKS, GKE, OKE, DOKS), including operators, CRDs, admission controllers, and service mesh (Istio/Linkerd/Consul).
- Construct sophisticated CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux) supporting blue‑green, canary, and progressive delivery patterns.
- Deliver unified monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana), distributed tracing, and centralized logging (ELK, Fluentd), with cross‑cloud alerting and incident response.
- Apply chaos engineering to evaluate and enhance multi‑cloud resilience.
- Implement zero‑trust security models: secrets management (Vault, KMS), Kubernetes RBAC, micro‑segmentation, and security assessments.
- Lead technical architecture decisions, evaluate vendors, and influence cloud‑native adoption across development teams.
**Required Skills:**
- Cloud Platforms: AWS (EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, Lambda), Azure (AKS, VMs, Resource Manager, DevOps), GCP (GKE, Compute, Cloud Build, IAM), OCI (OKE, Compute, Networking), DigitalOcean (DOKS, Droplets, Load Balancers).
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, ARM, Resource Manager.
- Kubernetes: Cluster lifecycle, networking (CNI), storage, security, operators, CRDs, admission control.
- CI/CD & GitOps: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Flux, Blue‑Green, Canary, Helm, Kustomize.
- Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, ELK, Fluentd, Cloud‑native logging.
- Security: Vault, KMS, IAM, network policies, micro‑segmentation, compliance frameworks, vulnerability scanning.
- Leadership: Project management, mentorship, vendor evaluation, cloud strategy.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant certifications preferred:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional / Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Google Professional Cloud Architect
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) / Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)
- HashiCorp Terraform Associate
- Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) – Cloud Native Engineering or similar.
