Job Description: Job title: Security Analyst Role Summary: Perform proactive and reactive cybersecurity analysis to protect critical infrastructure. Analyze threat data, conduct risk assessments, and maintain incident response plans with minimal supervision. Expectations: - Operate independently while following established policies. - Maintain rigorous documentation and reporting for management. - Stay current on emerging threats and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor and analyze events from security tools, network devices, and information systems. - Conduct threat assessments, vulnerability scans, and security audits. - Provide incident response support and manage incident lifecycle documentation. - Develop and deliver security awareness training materials. - Assist in selecting, implementing, and configuring security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, secure mail gateways). - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed security controls in system designs. - Generate management reports detailing risks and mitigation recommendations. - Maintain necessary security clearances and comply with regulatory frameworks. Required Skills: - Strong knowledge of operating systems, networking, databases, and security infrastructure. - Proficient in using servers, firewalls, secure email gateways, SIEM, and vulnerability assessment tools. - Ability to analyze complex data, articulate findings, and recommend actionable solutions. - Excellent independent work ethic, judgment, and communication. - Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework or equivalent risk management models. Required Education & Certifications: - Associate’s degree in cybersecurity or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Preferred certifications: CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+. - Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel for training and conferences.
