Job Description
Job Title: Vice President, Global Safety & Security Role Summary: Leads global safety and security strategy and operations, advising executive leadership, developing policies, ensuring compliance, and managing crisis response across all offices. Expectations: Deliver a coordinated, proactive safety program; maintain high staff wellbeing standards; demonstrate leadership in executive protection, risk assessment, and incident management. Key Responsibilities - Oversee global safety and security team; mentor staff at HQ and country offices. - Serve as senior advisor to executive leadership on all safety/security matters. - Report metrics on incident rates, training completion, risk assessments, and preparedness. - Partner with Crisis Management Team to ensure readiness, training, and post-crisis support. - Coordinate with People & Culture to embed duty of care into organization culture. - Collaborate with Communications and Cyber Security on threat monitoring, incident response, and learning. - Provide security assessments, action plans, and guidance to offices and affiliates worldwide. - Build relationships with government, NGOs, and security bodies; keep abreast of regulatory updates. - Integrate safety/security considerations into program design, grant proposals, and business development. - Develop and maintain crisis and evacuation plans for each country of operation. Required Skills - Leadership and team development in a global, cross-cultural environment. - Executive protection knowledge and experience. - Crisis management, risk assessment, and incident response expertise. - Strong cyber‑physical security acumen; ability to partner with technical experts. - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship building. - Empathy‑driven, people‑centered approach. - Strategic thinking, problem solving, and project management. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Security, International Relations, Business, or related field (preferred graduate degree). - Significant workplace‑based security experience, including at least 3 years in a global leadership role. - Experience operating in insecure/hostile environments and managing country‑office security. - Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Protection Professional, Executive Protection Manager) are advantageous.
