About the Company

Raphael Nursery is an award winning bilingual French nursery setting in the heart of London, located in Clapham and Hammersmith. It received the Top 20 Independent Nursery Award for London in 2024 and 2021. It is a lively family-owned childcare with two branches. One setting is located in Clapham South at the edge of Abbeville village and the other one in Hammersmith near the tube station. The nurseries welcome children aged between 3 months and 5 years old. They open 51 weeks a year from 8am to 6pm. Raphael nursery strives to provide a loving caring, stimulating, and safe environment for your children. It wants to feel like a home away from home for our children. It is a place where we can nurture them for the future and prepare them for their next steps. We hope to communicate a lifelong love for learning, develop confidence and foster positive minds. We look for the children to become flexible and learn to adapt to new people and situations.

Job Description
**Job Title:** Nursery Room Leader **Role Summary:** Lead and manage the nursery room team, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment that supports children’s development across all Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) areas. Plan and deliver EYFS activities, maintain high standards of care, promote inclusion, and liaise with parents and carers. **Expectations:** - Demonstrate confident decision‑making and leadership. - Uphold safeguarding and risk‑management standards. - Foster a collaborative team and positive classroom culture. - Encourage inclusion of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). - Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external partners. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead, mentor, and support nursery room staff; plan daily activities and evaluate learning outcomes. - Conduct risk assessments and enforce safeguarding procedures to keep the nursery safe. - Deliver EYFS curriculum across all seven learning areas, adjusting activities to meet diverse needs. - Maintain high standards of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for all children. - Promote equal opportunities and inclusion for children with SEND. - Liaise with parents/carers and other family members to discuss progress, concerns, and support plans. - Collaborate with the wider staff team on room organisation, resources, and daily operations. - Provide support and training to colleagues when required. **Required Skills:** - Strong leadership, team‑management, and decision‑making abilities. - In‑depth knowledge of EYFS policy, curriculum, and statutory regulations. - Competence in risk assessment, safeguarding, and health & safety. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including parent liaison. - Problem‑solving, critical thinking, and adaptability. - Ability to support children receiving special educational needs. - Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and record‑keeping. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Childcare). - Statutory Health & Safety, Safeguarding, and First Aid certifications. - Prior experience working within an Early Years setting (minimum 1 year). - Additional training or certifications in SEN or special educational needs is an advantage.
