Job Description
**Job Title:** Cloud Engineer **Role Summary:** Provide applied cloud solution architecture and hands‑on development for a large federal client, executing application migrations, AI initiatives, and security compliance. Serve as a collaborative project advisor and lead a small team of cloud application developers. **Expactations:** - Must hold a public trust clearance or be eligible to obtain one. - Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in application development and cloud migration. - Willingness to work onsite or remotely, with potential travel to client sites. **Key Responsibilities:** - Participate actively in project planning, defining programming and hardware requirements. - Design, code (Java, Python, C#), test, and debug cloud‑based applications per specifications. - Prepare detailed diagrams, charts, and documentation for system structures and updates. - Manage cloud deployments, including updates, patches, and containerization with Kubernetes. - Maintain security compliance, identify risks, and report findings to protect data integrity. - Provide end‑user technical support for application revisions and user inquiries. - Lead and contribute to AI initiatives to enhance application performance. - Supervise a small team of developers, ensuring adherence to SDLC best practices. **Required Skills:** - Application development (web, batch, object‑oriented) with Java, SQL, and other relevant languages. - Strong relational database design and use. - Proficiency in AWS cloud services and migration from on‑premise to cloud. - Knowledge of security best practices for cloud data protection. - DevOps expertise, including CI/CD pipelines and automation with AI tools. - Containerization and Kubernetes experience for application delivery. - Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and independent team collaboration abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Eligibility for public trust clearance. - Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or Cloud Security Professional.
