Job Description

Job Title: Automation Engineer – R&D Office (M/F) Role Summary: Design, develop, test, and deploy industrial automation solutions for new and retrofitted projects. Work within a multidisciplinary R&D team focused on integrating PLCs, SCADA, and supervisory systems across automotive, metallurgy, and energy sectors. Support commissioning, operator training, and post‑installation troubleshooting. Expectations: - Deliver complete automation architectures and hardware specifications. - Produce functional analyses and test plans. - Program PLCs across Siemens, Schneider, and Rockwell families using Ladder and Structured text. - Develop SCADA/OPCUA-based supervisory interfaces. - Lead onsite commissioning, including operator hand‑over. - Provide warranty support and resolve incidents. - Investigate and recommend new technologies and methods. - Conduct site visits (≈30 % of time). Key Responsibilities: 1. Define system architecture & select appropriate hardware components. 2. Document functional requirements and develop test specifications. 3. Write, review, and maintain PLC code and related documentation. 4. Configure and program supervisory/SCADA systems. 5. Execute unit, integration, and site tests. 6. Supervise commissioning activities and train plant staff. 7. Deliver technical support during warranty period. 8. Explore emerging solutions and propose improvements. Required Skills: - Solid knowledge of industrial control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA). - Proficiency in Ladder and Structured Programming. - Experience with Siemens, Schneider, and Rockwell platforms. - Basic electrical systems understanding (circuits, protection, motor controls). - Ability to create functional analyses and test plans. - Strong documentation and version‑control practices. - Effective communication for training and support. - Self‑driven, solution‑oriented mindset. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or technical degree in Automation, Industrial Engineering, or related field. - Proven experience in an automation R&D environment (minimum 1–2 years). - Certifications in PLC programming or SCADA (e.g., Siemens S7, Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider EcoStruxure) are desirable.
