Job title: Senior Manager / Head of Data Strategy & Governance **Role Summary** Lead the development and delivery of data strategy and governance frameworks for clients. Own business development, manage a specialized team, and deliver strategic data initiatives that drive measurable business value across marketing, CX, AI and tech domains. **Expectations** - Navigate senior client organizations (CMO, CDO, CIO, COO) to align data vision with commercial objectives. - Build and expand a profitable data strategy service offering. - Recruit, coach, and retain high‑performance data strategy staff. - Ensure client engagements meet ROI, compliance and ethics standards. **Key Responsibilities** *Business – Go‑to‑Market (≈20%)* - Design and present data‑strategy GTM proposals to prospective clients. - Lead pre‑sales, scoping, and bid‑creation activities for data‑governance services. - Identify growth opportunities in luxury, retail, hospitality, FMCG, and financial services sectors. - Represent the firm at industry events and thought‑leadership forums. *Management – Team Leadership (≈20%)* - Manage a cross‑functional team of data‑strategy consultants, governance analysts, PMO staff, and privacy experts. - Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and career development. - Develop and maintain internal references: governance models, maturity frameworks, glossaries, and RACI matrices. - Control project staffing, workload, and operational performance. - Collaborate with Data, Tech, CX, and IA teams. *Technical – Data Strategy & Governance (≈60%)* - Define client‑specific data visions and strategic roadmaps, prioritizing initiatives and building business cases. - Develop KPI sets, operating models, and maturity frameworks for data maturity assessment. - Implement governance structures: roles, committees, charters, policies, data catalogs, glossaries, lineage, MDM, data quality, and privacy compliance. - Align governance with platform architecture (Snowflake, Databricks, GCP, AWS, Azure). - Lead GDPR, privacy‑by‑design, DPIA, and data‑ethics initiatives; provide guidance on responsible AI usage. - Drive end‑to‑end program management, coordinating stakeholders across business, IT, data office, and external partners. - Facilitate data literacy programs through workshops, training, and coaching. - Prioritize use cases in CRM, marketing, retail, and finance, delivering clear business value metrics. **Required Skills** - 7–12 years in data strategy, data governance, or related consulting. - Deep knowledge of modern data organizations, MDM, data quality, operating models, and data privacy frameworks. - Proficiency with data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, GCP, AWS, Azure) and governance tools (Collibra, Alation, Atlan). - Strong business acumen; ability to articulate data value to C‑suite executives. - Leadership, program management, and people‑management capabilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Results‑oriented mindset and ethical approach to data use. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field (advanced degree preferred but not mandatory). - Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Information Privacy Professional, data‑governance certificates, or cloud platform credentials) are a plus.
