Job Description: **Job title** Store Manager – Independent Contractor **Role Summary** Manage daily operations of a boutique concept store while serving as its face during a 30‑hour weekly schedule. Oversee customer service, inventory, visual merchandising, and monthly community events. Balance independent contractor responsibilities with brand representation and sales drive. **Expectations** * 1099 contractor; paid $16/hour + monthly sales commissions * 30 hours per week, with flexible scheduling for event planning and merchandising * Demonstrate entrepreneurial initiative and autonomy in all duties **Key Responsibilities** * Open, staff, and close shop on scheduled hours, engaging customers and selling merchandise * Sign‑in yoga students and maintain a welcoming environment for studio patrons * Receive, tag, and track inventory; maintain stock levels and coordinate vendor deliveries * Lead visual merchandising, ensuring cohesive displays that reflect brand storytelling * Plan, promote, and execute monthly events (artisan features, pop‑ups, workshops) * Monitor sales metrics, collaborate on strategies to meet or exceed targets * Represent the brand’s ethos with professionalism and warmth **Required Skills** * Retail or hospitality sales experience (management experience a plus) * Strong organization, self‑motivation, and independent work ethic * Excellent communication; comfortable with yoga community and design‑savvy shoppers * Proficient with POS systems and basic inventory software * Creative thinker with passion for handmade goods, global culture, and ethical retail * Ability to craft engaging storytelling through product placement **Required Education & Certifications** * High school diploma or equivalent (additional certification in retail, merchandising, or customer service is beneficial but not mandatory)
