Job Description
Job title: Software Engineer Role Summary: Design, develop, test, and commission control and automation solutions for water and wastewater treatment systems. Deliver high‑quality, client‑standard compliant software from concept to commissioning while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. Expactations: • Produce accurate design documentation (FDS, system architecture, PLC I/O sheets, hardware specification). • Program PLCs and HMIs using industry‑standard platforms. • Conduct rigorous software testing (simulation, hardware, telemetry). • Integrate networked PLCs and SCADA for real‑time monitoring. • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders. • Apply best practices in safety, reliability, and maintainability. • Adhere to project schedules and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: • Create and maintain functional design specifications and system architecture documents. • Program PLCs (Mitsubishi GX Works, Allen‑Bradley Studio 5000 Logix, Siemens TIA Portal) and HMI interfaces (Unified HMI). • Configure and test Wonderware SCADA and telemetry components. • Perform simulation and hardware testing, troubleshoot faults, and validate system performance. • Assist in commissioning and hand‑over of plant automation systems. • Coordinate with hardware, control panel, and electrical teams for integrated solutions. • Draft client‑ready reports and documentation. • Participate in client meetings, provide technical guidance, and manage expectations. Required Skills: • PLC and HMI programming proficiency (Mitsubishi GX Works, Allen‑Bradley Studio 5000 Logix, Siemens TIA Portal). • Experience with Wonderware SCADA and Unified HMI. • Strong software testing and commissioning background. • Network configuration and PLC integration skills. • Telemetry troubleshooting. • Solid understanding of water & wastewater industry processes. • Effective written and verbal communication. • Electrical knowledge or equivalent experience. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering, or related field. • Electrical qualification or proven equivalent experience (e.g., ICT, electrical design). • Relevant PLC/HMI training certificates (GX Works, Studio 5000, TIA Portal, Wonderware) preferred.
