Job Description
**Job Title:** Banksman Slinger **Role Summary:** Responsible for coordinating the safe movement of heavy loads on a large offshore onshore facility. Works in a 12‑hour 2/2 shift rotation, including night shifts, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and accurate communication during lift operations. **Expectations:** * Participate in a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation until end of February. * Commute to site from Aberdeen on Tuesdays for mobilisation. * Strict adherence to safety protocols, documentation, and company procedures. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Direct and coordinate crane and hoist operations, ensuring safe deployment of loads. 2. Manage rigging, slings, and all associated hardware in line with project specifications. 3. Signall and communicate with riggers, crane operators, and site personnel using recognized hand and electronic signalling methods. 4. Inspect rigging equipment and ensure it meets safety standards prior to use. 5. Maintain accurate documentation of load movements, inspections, and incident records. 6. Work in coordination with site supervisors to schedule lifts and maintain operational continuity. 7. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (OPITO, CPCS, NPORS, etc.). **Required Skills:** * Strong communication and coordination abilities. * Proficiency in crane signalling and rigging techniques. * High attention to detail and strict compliance with safety processes. * Ability to work independently in a shift‑based schedule, including night shifts. **Required Education & Certifications:** * CPCS A40 Slinger/Signaller or NPORS N402. * OPITO Banksman/Rigger – Stage 3 or higher. * NVQ Level 2 (or CPCS Blue Card in lieu). * Passport and valid medical. * DBS check (mandatory). * Work at Height Unit 2 (if held). **Additional Useful Certification** * B2 Counterbalance Forklift (advantageous).
