Job Description

**Job Title** Intern, Engineering/Design **Role Summary** Summer 2026 internship in HVAC Cooling Engineering, supporting product development, testing, and design activities. Gain hands‑on experience in mechanical/structural analysis, CAD modeling, prototype support, and process improvement within a global industrial HVAC organization. **Expectations** - Develop skills in the full engineering design cycle. - Contribute to real‑world projects that impact manufacturing and customer solutions. - Collaborate with senior engineers, maintain documentation, and adhere to industry standards. **Key Responsibilities** - Assist with design analysis (structural &/or fluid mechanics) and prototype development. - Conduct technical feasibility studies, economic analysis, and design layout improvements. - Create and modify engineering drawings and 3‑D models in AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent. - Support component and product testing, document results, and recommend design refinements. - Help assemble engineering standards for automation and design process enhancements. - Update design programs, templates, and technical documentation to reflect revisions and code updates. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). - Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. - Effective verbal and written communication. - Hand‑sketching of 2‑D/3‑D objects. - Understanding of fundamental structural engineering concepts. - Creative spatial visualization and strong problem‑solving. - Awareness of productivity improvement and design enhancement practices. - Programming experience (preferred). - Ability to lift up to 50 lb, type rapidly, and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrolment in a Bachelor’s program in Civil/Structural Engineering, Design/Drafting Technology, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or related field. - Cumulative GPA ≥ 3.0. - High school diploma or GED required.
