Job Description
**Job Title** Senior Vice President, Security **Role Summary** Lead the organization’s comprehensive physical and cyber‑physical security strategy, protecting people, facilities, events, reputation, and mission-critical operations domestically and internationally. Drive risk‑management, incident response, and integrated security practices across a multi‑layered workforce and six primary divisions. **Expectations** - One of the highest executive security roles, reporting to senior leadership. - Operate within a high‑visibility threat environment with up to 15 % travel. - Balance proactive risk mitigation with the organization’s mission‑driven public engagement. **Key Responsibilities** - Develop and implement overall security strategy, philosophy, and risk‑management framework. - Define risk tolerance and advise senior leadership on evolving threats, mitigation strategies, and recommendations. - Build a culture of awareness, preparedness, and shared responsibility. - Supervise six security divisions: Event Security, Guard Force, Intelligence Analysis, Security Technology & Equipment, Executive Protection & Staff Training, Regional Security Operations. - Lead a multidisciplinary workforce (guards, contractors, analysts, investigators, support staff). - Mentor and develop security teams, ensuring professionalism, discretion, and mission alignment. - Oversee incident response protocols, crisis‑management plans, and investigations of security incidents. - Partner with federal, state, local law enforcement, private security vendors, and internal stakeholders (Executive, Facilities, Events, Legal, IT). - Represent security interests with external partners, venues, and vendors. **Required Skills** - 20 + years of progressive security, law enforcement, intelligence or related experience; 10 + years in senior leadership. - Expertise in protective services, crisis response, event security, threat assessment, risk analysis, and emergency preparedness. - Proven leadership of large‑scale, multidisciplinary security operations. - Experience collaborating with law‑enforcement agencies and private security contractors. - Exceptional judgment, discretion, and decision‑making under pressure. - Excellent communication, briefing, and stakeholder‑management skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in security studies, criminal justice, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. - Advanced security or leadership certifications (e.g., CISSP, CRSP, CPP, CISM) preferred.
