Generative AI Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, develop, and maintain cloud‑native applications that integrate generative AI capabilities. Leverage AWS services, microservices architecture, and prompt engineering to deliver intelligent, scalable solutions in a collaborative environment.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proven proficiency with Python and Java, AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Glue, etc.), and relational & NoSQL databases.
- Hands‑on experience building and deploying generative AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, ChatGPT) and working with Agent Mode.
- Strong grasp of prompt engineering, API design, and microservices best practices.
- Excellent technical communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and develop scalable, secure microservices using AWS and containerization technologies.
- Integrate generative AI models into production workflows, optimizing for performance and cost.
- Design, implement, and maintain APIs, data pipelines, and database schemas across PostgreSQL, Oracle/DB2, MongoDB, and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements, conduct code reviews, and enforce coding standards.
- Apply prompt engineering techniques to improve AI assistant effectiveness in development and troubleshooting.
- Mentor junior engineers, provide technical leadership, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
**Required Skills**
- 5+ years of software engineering in production environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and Java.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Glue, etc.) and related tooling.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle/DB2, MongoDB, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch).
- Expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and containerization (Docker, ECS/EKS).
- Practical experience with generative AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, ChatGPT) and Agent Mode.
- Strong prompt engineering skills and ability to interact with AI assistants effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership capabilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional) preferred.
