Job Description
**Job title** Director Business Development – Last Mile **Role Summary** Lead new business development and account expansion for a last‑mile logistics unit. Own the end‑to‑end sales cycle, build and execute deal strategy, and guide cross‑functional pursuit teams. Drive revenue growth through new contracts, solution selling, and cross‑sell opportunities, and transition accounts to key‑account management after 24 months. **Expectations** • 5+ years sales experience, including 3 years at quota and 2 years at ≥75% of quota. • Proven record of achieving quota three times in a 60‑month period selling supply‑chain solutions. • Strong ability to secure large‑value deals (e.g., $120 M / 5 yr). • Class E driver license, 30‑40 % travel. **Key Responsibilities** • Own deal pursuit: create pricing strategy, proposal plan, and sales pitch. • Prospect new brands, build industry pipeline, and develop vertical expertise. • Negotiate contracts, close deals, and deliver structured proposals. • Support post‑close accounts, pursue cross‑sell opportunities, and maintain pipeline health. • Transition new accounts to the Key Accounts lead after 24 months. • Meet assigned sales quota and contribute to long‑term revenue targets. **Required Skills** • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities. • Customer‑centric problem solving and service orientation. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, set deadlines, and adapt quickly. • Strong interpersonal and influence skills across all organizational levels. • Confidentiality, self‑direction, and teamwork. • Deep understanding of services, cost structures, pricing, and value proposition. **Required Education & Certifications** • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field. • Master’s (MBA) preferred. ---
