Job Title: Co‑op/Intern Student – Electrical Specialist, Process Systems & Software Role Summary: 16‑month internship focused on the full lifecycle of electrical hardware projects. First 8 months in CAD design support, creating and reviewing electrical drawings with AutoCAD Electrical, collaborating with sales, engineering, PM, and manufacturing. Final 8 months expand to hands‑on electrical engineering tasks – panel design, heat‑load calculations, PLC/DCS hardware, and system integration. Expectations: - Complete all assigned design and engineering tasks on schedule. - Produce error‑free drawings that meet company standards and customer requirements. - Apply safety and industry standards to all designs. - Communicate progress to engineers and project leads. - Demonstrate continuous learning of control systems, automation, and industrial safety practices. Key Responsibilities: **CAD Designer Phase** - Create electrical panel assemblies, MCCs, building wiring, instrumentation loops, P&IDs, valve/actuator assemblies using AutoCAD Electrical. - Collaborate with engineering, PM, and manufacturing to understand deliverables. - Ensure drawing quality control and adherence to company standards. - Report design progress and propose workflow improvements. **Electrical Specialist Phase** - Assist senior engineers in reviewing and ensuring design accuracy of control system panels and junction boxes. - Conduct basic heat and power load calculations. - Gain knowledge of control system and network architecture fundamentals. - Support development and maintenance of design documentation and standards. - Provide technical assistance to manufacturing, service, and sales teams. - Participate in customer‑focused activities (meetings, documentation).
