Job Description
**Job title** Mechanical Engineering Intern – Summer 2026 **Role Summary** A 10‑12 week paid internship providing hands‑on experience in sustainable building systems design. Interns integrate with engineering and design teams, contributing to HVAC, plumbing, and hydronic layouts, energy modeling, and construction administration for projects ranging from retrofits to high‑profile sustainable buildings. **Expactations** - Current third‑year undergraduate student in mechanical or related engineering program. - Strong desire to work in building design and pursue sustainable solutions. - Effective written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. **Key Responsibilities** - Prepare CAD and Revit drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and hydronic systems. - Perform energy and water use analysis (EUI, WUI). - Conduct design calculations and create system layouts. - Support construction administration through site visits and observation reports. - Assist in commissioning activities and eco‑charrette support. - Gather and analyze weather/climate data for design decisions. - Review and prepare cost estimates and M/E coordination schedules. - Contribute to project timeline and specification development. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in CAD and Revit. - Knowledge of energy modeling software. - Strong analytical skills for design calculations. - Familiarity with construction administration and commissioning processes. - Ability to interpret climatic data and sustainability metrics. **Required Education & Certifications** - Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (3rd‑year). - Completed coursework in Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer. - Preferred: Building Sciences, HVAC. ---
