Job Title: Founding Engineer, AI Platform & Cloud Systems
Role Summary
Design, build, and scale the core backend, AI pipelines, and cloud infrastructure for an AI‑driven document processing platform. Own end‑to‑end systems that ingest, validate, and extract structured data from complex documents, improving customer speed, accuracy, and reliability.
Expectations
- 3+ years of professional software engineering, primarily backend or full‑stack.
- Proven ability to architect and operate production‑grade cloud systems at scale.
- Strong system‑design judgment around performance, reliability, and trade‑offs.
- Comfortable leading projects in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments with high ownership.
- Able to translate business workflows into robust software solutions and collaborate with non‑engineering stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Build scalable backend services that support AI‑powered document ingestion, processing, and validation.
- Design and maintain data pipelines to extract structured information using AI models, deterministic logic, and human‑in‑the‑loop workflows.
- Develop metrics, testing, and monitoring to continuously improve extraction accuracy across diverse document types.
- Scale cloud infrastructure for high‑volume concurrent workloads during peak periods.
- Integrate with third‑party platforms, internal tools, and customer systems.
- Contribute to customer‑facing features that enhance intake flows, review workflows, and output quality.
- Partner with founders on early architectural decisions and establish engineering best practices.
- Own projects from design through production and iteration.
Required Skills
- Backend programming (e.g., Python, Go, Java) and full‑stack experience.
- Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- System architecture design, performance tuning, and scalability strategies.
- Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines and integration of pretrained models or custom model serving.
- Experience with data pipelines, ETL, and document processing workflows.
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
