Job Description
Job title: Director, Software Development and QA Role Summary: Lead high‑performance software and QA teams to deliver scalable, secure platforms with speed and quality. Drive AI/automation adoption, enforce secure SDLC, and maintain Agile excellence while aligning technology with business strategy. Expactations: Achieve measurable gains in productivity, quality, and cost efficiency; cultivate ownership, urgency, and continuous learning; ensure compliance with AWS Well‑Architected Framework pillars; deliver on ambitious roadmaps and budget targets. Key Responsibilities - Design and execute multi‑year software roadmaps and Agile/Scrum delivery plans. - Lead, coach, and grow development and QA teams of 10+, setting priorities, standards, and metrics. - Champion AI and automation initiatives to boost developer productivity and test efficiency. - Enforce secure SDLC practices, cloud architecture principles, and CI/CI‑CD pipelines. - Monitor and report on productivity, quality, and delivery KPIs to executive leadership. - Collaborate with finance, HR, and technical architects on staffing, budgets, and talent strategy. - Drive culture of experimentation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence. - Manage onboarding, performance management, career development, and succession planning. Required Skills - 10+ years of commercial software delivery; 8+ years of progressive leadership with teams of 10+. - Deep expertise in Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, secure SDLC, and cloud (AWS) architecture. - Proven success in AI/automation adoption and emerging technology integration. - Strong strategic vision, data‑driven decision making, and bias for action. - Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills; ability to translate tech to business terms. - Motivating and accountable leadership style that drives high performance. - Certifications: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent; AWS Well‑Architected Framework or cloud architecture certification preferred. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). - 10+ years of commercial software delivery experience with 8+ years of progressive people leadership. ---
