Job Description
**Job Title:** Finance Manager (Reporting) – Fixed Term Contract **Role Summary:** Finance Manager responsible for leading all group-level financial reporting, month‑end close, and technical accounting. Acts as interim Finance Manager during a Finance Controller’s maternity leave, driving accurate and insightful financial information to support strategic decisions. Works closely with the Finance Director and cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment. **Expectations:** - Deliver timely, accurate monthly accounts and variance analysis for senior management. - Maintain compliance with FRS102, audit requirements, and internal control standards. - Provide leadership in AP, debt collection, payment authorisation, and capital project finance. - Act as technical accounting resource and audit liaison, fostering strong relationships with external partners. - Demonstrate ownership, problem‑solving and proactive communication throughout the reporting cycle. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead month‑end close for all group entities, prepare management accounts and detailed variance explanations. - Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate presentation of all key accounts. - Apply FRS102 standards to complex transactions, respond to technical queries, and document accounting policies. - Co‑lead audit processes, coordinate timelines, supply information, and work to minimise audit queries. - Oversee the accounts payable function: timely processing, vendor relationship management, and control integrity. - Manage debt collection, monitor aged debt, and implement collection strategies to optimise cash flow. - Perform 2nd authorisation on HSBC payments and payment releases via Spendesk; enforce payment workflow and policy compliance. - Support the Finance Director on capital expenditure analysis, financial modelling, asset register maintenance, and cash‑flow forecasting. - Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and support decision‑making. **Required Skills:** - Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong FRS102 knowledge. - Extensive experience in month‑end close, management reporting and variance analysis. - Technical accounting proficiency and the ability to resolve complex FRS 102 issues. - Audit coordination experience and familiarity with external audit processes. - Proficient with AP processes, debt collection, and payment authorisation controls. - Experience using payment platforms such as Spendesk and bank‑settlement systems (HSBC). - Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities. - Ability to work independently, take ownership, and thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). - Demonstrated knowledge of FRS102 accounting standards.
