**Job Title:** Senior Data Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, develop, and deploy scalable data solutions on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Lead technical strategy for data products, collaborate with clients to align solutions with business objectives, and provide expert guidance on data architecture and analytics best practices.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver high‑quality, production‑ready data pipelines and analytic applications for complex, large‑scale datasets.
- Influence and set the technology direction for end‑to‑end data services.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers and partners, translating industry context into actionable solutions.
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Analyse customer requirements, data maturity, and goals to recommend optimal data strategies.
2. Architect, build, and maintain data applications across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
3. Design distributed, high‑performance analytics solutions for massive datasets.
4. Develop and enforce best practices for data security, governance, and compliance.
5. Mentor junior engineers and lead technical discussions on emerging data technologies.
6. Partner with product, architecture, and business teams to shape data product roadmaps.
**Required Skills:**
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in data‑centric roles.
- Proficiency in at least one of: C, Scala, Java, Python, Golang.
- Deep knowledge of cloud services (compute, storage, networking, security) and distributed systems.
- Hands‑on experience with big data platforms (Spark, Flink, Hadoop, etc.) and data storage technologies (SQL/NoSQL, data lakes).
- Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English; willingness to learn Dutch and/or French.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, GCP Professional Data Engineer) are a plus.
