Job Description
**Job Title:** Financial Controller **Role Summary** Lead all financial operations, accounting, and reporting functions. Partner with leadership to deliver accurate data, forecast business performance, and design scalable financial systems that support rapid international growth. **Expectations** - Own end‑to‑end finance processes: management accounting, cash‑flow, budgeting, forecasting, reporting. - Ensure UK GAAP compliance, audit readiness, and robust financial governance. - Develop and automate financial systems, improving efficiency and accuracy. - Provide clear, data‑driven insights to guide strategic decisions and operational improvements. - Manage external accounting partners and oversee inter‑company transactions. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Manage day‑to‑day accounting, payroll, and banking reconciliations. 2. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (including consolidated group accounts). 3. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across all departments. 4. Automate financial processes; implement and maintain ERP/core finance tools. 5. Deliver financial models for growth, investment and commercial planning. 6. Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, audit requirements, and financial controls. 7. Manage external bookkeeping/outsourced accounting teams. 8. Oversee cash‑flow planning and working‑capital optimization. 9. Provide financial dashboards and reports to executive leadership. **Required Skills** - Strong operational finance experience in a high‑growth SME/start‑up or scale‑up environment. - Proven ability to manage group accounting and inter‑company settlements. - Proficiency in preparing consolidated financial statements and general ledger maintenance. - Advanced analytical skills; ability to translate financial data into actionable insights. - Excellent communication and presentation abilities. - Detail‑oriented, self‑starter with autonomy, comfortable in a collaborative mission‑driven culture. - Knowledge of modern finance tools, automation, and ERP systems. - Understanding of physical product accounting, customs, inventory, and cross‑border sales is a plus. **Required Education & Certifications** - ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification, or equivalent proven experience. ---
