Job Description
Job Title: Senior Development Project Manager Role Summary: Lead the delivery of large‑scale residential development projects on a contract basis (9 months). Manage all aspects of external contractor engagement, from initial risk scoping to programme control and quality assurance, while interfacing with developers, funders, JV partners and senior management. Expectations: - Deliver projects on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards. - Mitigate risks through robust contractual arrangements and proactive programme management. - Communicate progress and issues transparently to all stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct initial scoping to identify risks, develop work programmes, and support bid preparation with the development team. - Prepare and manage tender processes for specialist contractors (remediation, infrastructure, build), ensuring legal robustness and risk mitigation. - Develop site strategy identifying constraints, opportunities, and long‑term planning considerations. - Oversee the developer‑contractor interface: maintain programme, enforce quality, and coordinate via the Employer’s Agent. - Collaborate closely with funders, JV partners, end users, and senior management to provide full project transparency. Required Skills: - Proven experience in managing major construction projects delivered by external contractors. - Strong knowledge of construction contracting, risk management, and legal contract frameworks. - Excellent stakeholder relationship and communication skills. - Analytical problem‑solving ability and proactive decision‑making. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or equivalent. - Professional qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, RICS) strongly preferred.
