Job Description
**Job Title:** Senior Cloud Engineer **Role Summary:** Lead the design, migration, and continual improvement of a secure, scalable cloud platform as the organization transitions from IBM Cloud to Google Cloud Platform. Drive infrastructure as code, GitOps-based CI/CD, and platform automation to enhance developer velocity, reliability, and cost visibility. **Expactations:** * Define infrastructure through code and GitOps workflows. * Successfully migrate key services to GCP. * Build standardized, high-velocity CI/CD pipelines with robust guardrails. * Deliver tooling that improves observability, performance insights, and cost transparency. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Architect and implement a secure, scalable cloud environment on GCP. 2. Build and maintain GitOps-driven pipelines for monorepos and microservices. 3. Collaborate with application teams to design and deploy cloud-native solutions that optimize scalability, reliability, and cost. 4. Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform (and supporting tools). 5. Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and post-mortem analysis. 6. Continuously refine platform standards, automation, and developer experience. **Required Skills:** * 6+ years of cloud engineering, DevOps, or software engineering experience. * Proven expertise in CI/CD at scale (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins, Cloud Build, etc.). * Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture, networking fundamentals, and Linux environments. * Strong proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, and container orchestration (Kubernetes). * Experience with GCP (preferred); functional knowledge of AWS/Azure acceptable. * Familiarity with backend languages (Go, Python, C++) and databases (MongoDB, MySQL, Elasticsearch) is a plus. * Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and collaborative skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. * Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Terraform Associate) are advantageous but not mandatory.
