Job Description
Job Title: Azure Cloud Engineer Role Summary: Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and cost‑efficient Microsoft Azure infrastructure, leading migration of on‑premises VMware workloads to Azure and ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance. Expactations: Deliver end‑to‑end Azure solutions, automate deployment pipelines, monitor and optimize cloud environments, provide technical guidance during cloud transformation, and maintain documentation of architecture, migration, and operational procedures. Key Responsibilities: - Architect, deploy, and manage Azure IaaS/PaaS services (VMs, networking, storage, SQL, App Services, Functions). - Lead VMware to Azure migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity. - Automate infrastructure using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform; set up CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions). - Monitor performance, availability, and cost; implement optimization strategies. - Troubleshoot and resolve hybrid cloud connectivity and infrastructure issues. - Apply security best practices (Azure AD, IAM, encryption, compliance controls). - Maintain detailed documentation of environments, migration processes, and SOPs. - Collaborate across infrastructure, security, and application teams to embed cloud solutions into business processes. Required Skills: - 5+ years Azure experience (IaaS, PaaS). - Expertise in VMware vSphere/ESXi and hybrid cloud migration. - Proficient with IaC (ARM, Bicep, Terraform). - Strong networking knowledge (VPN, ExpressRoute, load balancers, firewalls, DNS). - Cloud security, identity, and compliance fundamentals. - Scripting automation (PowerShell, Python). - Troubleshooting and problem‑solving in hybrid environments. - Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. - Understanding of backup, DR, business continuity, and container orchestration (AKS, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred). - Azure certifications: AZ‑104, AZ‑305, AZ‑700, or equivalent.
