Job title: Full Stack Engineer
Role Summary: Senior engineer (6 + years) responsible for designing and shipping production-grade services for Moss, a real‑time semantic search platform. Works directly with the founding team, owns end‑to‑end product surfaces, and drives architecture, performance, and reliability at scale.
Expactations:
- Senior technical leadership with proven track record of shipping complex product software.
- Proactive ownership, decisive action in ambiguous environments, and bias for fast iteration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build core services powering Moss at scale, including APIs, dashboards, and developer tooling.
- Own end‑to‑end surface from backend to frontend, ensuring high performance, low latency, and reliability.
- Optimize infrastructure for resource efficiency, monitoring, and robust observability.
- Collaborate with customers and partners to inform product direction and validate solutions.
- Champion code quality, experimentation, rapid learning, and engineering culture.
Required Skills:
- 6 + years of production software delivery in a product‑focused context.
- Mastery of TypeScript and modern front‑end frameworks (React / Next.js).
- Experience designing and owning backend services (Node.js, Rust, Go or similar).
- Strong fundamentals in performance optimization, caching, profiling, and observability.
- Cloud expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP, Cloudflare) and infrastructure automation.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills:
- WebAssembly, browser workers, SIMD optimization.
- Vector search, embedding pipelines, real‑time retrieval.
- Developer tools or SDK production.
- API versioning, usage metering, billing, multi‑tenant authentication.
- Open‑source contributions to infra or web performance libraries.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus but not mandatory.
